BRIEF HISTORY OF MUSLIM SCOUTS IN KENYA

I hereby write to introduce to you about the newly formed organization which is known as the National Union of the Kenya Muslim Scouts, the movement is under the umbrella of Kenya Scout Association . It started in 2006 after the international rover moot in Saudi Arabian whereby scouts from all over the world participated. The first initiator and the founder of the Muslim scout in Kenya is Mr.Ismail Abdi who is the secretary general with the help of Mr. Shuaib Adam who ids the chairman. The objectives and aim of the union is to develop and promote the spirit of brotherhood and understanding among Muslim scouts. To introduce Islamic scouting in such states where Muslim are residing . To develop an education curriculum that should contribute to structure and to build the spiritual dimension in the personalities of young Muslims. The union has been participating in different activities in helping the youths and inter community at large with the help of Kenya scouts association, the activities includes, training youths on life skills, doing cleanups e.t.c.

PURPOSE

Is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their fully physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, social and character formation; equipping them with knowledge, skills and positive attitudes useful to them selves and the communities.
