Islamic Dawah Movement of Southern Africa (IDM)
IDM is primarily involved in promoting the pristine, pure message of Islam to all the people of Southern Africa . With humble beginnings in 1977, it has now grown to be one of the larger dawah organizations in the country and the Southern African Region, with over 30 years of experience, expertise and professionalism backing it. Its Dawah Network Unit is one of the largest in the sub-continent, with over 25 centres under its portfolio and over 35 persons employed including about 25 field duat. Whilst its Human Resource Development has existed almost since inception, it has assumed sub-continental proportions, with the organizations of major workshops, seminars and in-service training, incorporating the Southern Africa region: on fiqh, dawah, leadership and management, socio-political and finance/economic issues; often in conjunction with other international and regional organizations. The Bookshop and Quran Unit is growing by the day. It is hoped that the Publication and Research Unit will play a more significant role in the making of a truly “Iqra” Community in Southern. Alhamdullillah, IDM is currently in a favourable position to effectively enhance and accelerate the Islamisation process in the Southern Africa Region.
